DONALD N. SCHUCARD
Donald Schucard is President and principal of Schucard Associates, Inc. He holds State of California Architectural Registration and membership in the San Diego Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Mr. Schucard graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Case Western Reserve University in 1968 and received a graduate fellowship to Princeton University. There he attended the School of Architecture and Urban Planning and earned his Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Design in 1970.
His professional work represents a varied and broad experience in architecture and planning. It has been recognized with awards and published in local, regional and national publications. His design for the first high quality office building on Caltrans leased land was one of six national finalists honored by the Urban Land Institute in 1985.
Mr. Schucard is also called upon to provide highly qualified legal testimony in cases involving architectural design and construction issues.
Prior to organizing Schucard Associates, Inc., Don held the positions of Project Architect, Project Manager and Associate with other major architectural and planning organizations. He was responsible for office, commercial, institutional, educational, residential, and industrial projects.
Mr. Schucard is past president of the Princeton University Club of San Diego County and remains active in their alumni association. He is co-author of a book on the architectural history of San Diego and has lectured throughout San Diego County. He has been an advisor to the A.I.A. High School Architectural Design Competition and has served on A.I.A. committees and in community groups.
